Peer Review Process
The Jurnal Manajemen dan Inovasi Kewirausahaan (JMIK) follows a rigorous and transparent double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of the research published in the journal. The process aims to provide constructive feedback to authors and maintain the scholarly standards of the journal.
1. Initial Submission and Screening
- Upon submission, the manuscript is initially screened by the editorial team to ensure it meets the journal’s scope, formatting requirements, and ethical standards.
- The editor will check for plagiarism using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts found to have a high similarity index will be returned to the author for revision or rejected if necessary.
- If the manuscript passes the initial screening, it is sent for peer review.
2. Peer Review Process
- Double-Blind Review: In the double-blind review process, both the identities of the authors and the reviewers are kept confidential. Authors do not know who the reviewers are, and reviewers do not know who the authors are.
- Reviewer Selection: The editorial team selects qualified reviewers who have expertise in the field related to the manuscript. We aim to ensure that reviewers are independent and have no conflicts of interest with the authors or the manuscript topic.
- Review Criteria: Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on several criteria, including:
- Originality and contribution to the field
- Clarity and structure of the writing
- Methodology and research design
- Quality and relevance of the literature review
- Analysis and interpretation of results
- Discussion and conclusions
- Ethical considerations and compliance
- Overall significance and impact of the research
- Review Outcome: Reviewers provide a recommendation based on their evaluation:
- Accept: The manuscript is suitable for publication with no or minor revisions.
- Minor Revision: The manuscript requires minor revisions or clarifications, but it is deemed suitable for publication after changes are made.
- Major Revision: Significant changes or improvements are required, and the manuscript will need to be resubmitted for another round of review.
- Reject: The manuscript is not suitable for publication in the journal due to major flaws in the research or writing.
3. Author Revisions
- Once the manuscript is reviewed, the authors will receive detailed feedback from the reviewers. Authors are required to address all the comments and suggestions provided by the reviewers.
- Authors must submit a revised manuscript along with a response letter explaining how they have addressed each comment.
- The editorial team will assess whether the revisions meet the reviewers' expectations. In some cases, the manuscript may be sent for a second round of review to ensure that the revisions were satisfactorily made.
4. Final Decision
- Based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the revised manuscript, the editor makes the final decision on whether to accept or reject the manuscript for publication.
- If accepted, the manuscript proceeds to the production phase for formatting and final editing before publication.
- If rejected, authors are encouraged to improve the manuscript based on the feedback received and consider submitting it to another journal.
5. Publication Ethics
- The peer review process is conducted with integrity and transparency. The editorial team ensures that all decisions are made based on the quality of the manuscript, not on the authors’ affiliation, nationality, or any other factor.
- In case of ethical issues such as suspected plagiarism, conflicts of interest, or unethical research practices, the journal follows the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to investigate and resolve the matter.
6. Reviewer Guidelines
Reviewers are expected to:
- Provide a timely, objective, and constructive review of the manuscript.
- Evaluate the manuscript based on the quality of the research and the writing, not personal biases.
- Maintain confidentiality and not share the manuscript with others.
- Disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect their review.
This peer review process ensures that the manuscripts published in Jurnal Manajemen dan Inovasi Kewirausahaan (JMIK) are of high quality, rigorous, and contribute meaningfully to the fields of management, entrepreneurship, and accounting. It provides authors with valuable feedback and enhances the overall integrity of the journal’s content.
